Happy Friday Saints.
It’s comforting to know that the Lord is our Shepherd, and that He wants to be with us and guide us through all of life’s mountaintops and dark valleys.
Jesus said in John 10:14&27, “I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD; I KNOW MY SHEEP AND MY SHEEP KNOW ME. MY SHEEP LISTEN TO MY VOICE; I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME.”
Jesus is the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep. He knows exactly what you’re going through when you have to WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY.
Hebrews 4:15 says that Jesus, our High Priest, “UNDERSTANDS OUR WEAKNESSES, FOR HE FACED ALL OF THE SAME TESTINGS WE DO, YET HE DID NOT SIN.”
When you pray about what you’re going through, your Good Shepherd understands. He can empathise with your struggles. As One who became flesh and dwelt among us, He faced “ALL OF THE SAME TESTINGS WE DO.”
Today’s passage also reveals that HE KNOWS YOU. He knows everything about you, and He knows what part of the valley you are struggling with the most. He doesn’t expect you to be a superhero; He simply wants you to trust Him.
He said, “MY SHEEP LISTEN TO MY VOICE.” If you take the time to pray and listen – He will speak to you.
He will speak to you through His Written Word. And when He does – you’ll KNOW what to do as you FOLLOW the voice of your Good Shepherd. So keep reading the Bible.
Because He knows you and understands what you’re going through, HE KNOWS EXACTLY what it takes to overcome your circumstances – just as He did when HE FACED ALL OF THE SAME TESTINGS.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE. As you walk THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, FEAR NO EVIL. For your loving and understanding Shepherd is WITH YOU.
