Jesus Commands us to Love our Enemies and Bless those who Curse You

Happy Monday Saints.

Luke 16:27-28 “BUT TO YOU WHO ARE LISTENING I SAY: LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, DO GOOD TO THOSE WHO HATE YOU, BLESS THOSE WHO CURSE YOU, PRAY FOR THOSE WHO MISTREAT YOU.”

This kind of love is impossible for us to accomplish on our own. It highlights our dependence on God to carry it out.

Our natural inclination is to repay evil for evil, to get some kind of revenge, or to make our enemies suffer. But Jesus commands us to LOVE our enemies.

In this life, we will encounter opposition and face trouble. There will be people who, for one reason or another, don’t like you and don’t want you to succeed, thrive, or enjoy life. They seem determined to make you fail.

And Jesus says to LOVE them anyway.

This kind of love requires us to trust God. We need to trust Him for the strength and grace to LOVE our enemies when it feels like the last thing we want to do. And we need to trust that God will protect us, defend us, and safeguard our cause.

Vengeance isn’t ours to administer – it belongs to God.

If you’ve been facing a lot of opposition lately and your enemies have been making things very difficult for you – ask God for the strength and wisdom to LOVE them.

Trust that His higher ways will work things out for your good. And even though you may not understand His command to LOVE – you have faith in God.

Saints, you are the light of the world. With God on your side, His Word as your guide, and His Spirit to enable you – He can help you LOVE when you feel absolutely powerless to do so.

Let His LOVE shine through you this week so that everyone may see your GOOD WORKS and glorify your Father in Heaven.

Have a fabulous day. God bless, and lots’a love,

Warren
