Jesus Blood Washes Away Our Sins – As if they Had Never Been Committed

Happy Monday Saints.

Last Friday, we saw that we have been redeemed by “THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST.”

Hebrews 9:22 says, “WITHOUT THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD, THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS.”

Our own blood isn’t any good because all of us have sinned. Only with the innocent blood of Jesus, “A LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH OR DEFECT,” can we be forgiven. His PRECIOUS BLOOD is our only hope.

At the last supper, Jesus gave thanks, took the cup of wine, gave it to His disciples and said in Matthew 26:28, “THIS IS MY BLOOD OF THE NEW COVENANT, WHICH IS SHED FOR MANY FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS.”

When you and I partake of Holy Communion, Jesus wants us to remember that His PRECIOUS BLOOD was shed for the REMISSION of our sins.

The Greek word translated as “REMISSION” is “aphesis.” It means, “Forgiveness or pardon of sins. Letting them go as if they had never been committed.”

In the Old Covenant, the blood of bulls and goats only covered people’s sins. But in the New Covenant, Jesus’ blood doesn’t cover our sins; His blood REMOVES them. His blood washes our sins away, “AS IF THEY HAD NEVER BEEN COMMITTED.”

For the believer, ALL your sins, EVERYTHING you’ve ever done wrong, have been washed away by the PRECIOUS BLOOD of Jesus. Your mind might recall your past faults and failures, but in the eyes of your Redeemer, it’s as if they had never been committed.

Romans 8:1 says that, “THERE IS NOW NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE IN CHRIST JESUS.”

If you believe in Jesus, you stand before the Lord with NO CONDEMNATION; innocent of any wrongdoing.

Hallelujah! Don’t let your past condemn you anymore. Enjoy your newfound freedom in Christ.
