Happy Thursday Saints.
2Timothy 3:1-2 “BUT MARK THIS: THERE WILL BE TERRIBLE TIMES IN THE LAST DAYS. PEOPLE WILL BE LOVERS OF THEMSELVES.”
As we draw closer to Christ’s return, people’s love for one another will grow cold, and selfishness will grow rampant.
People will become increasingly self-centered, and the narcissism of many will result in the terrible times that will be suffered in the last days.
Saints, you control how selfish and self-centered you are. You can choose to care about others, and you can choose to love and support other people. And as the old saying goes, ‘Charity begins in the home.’
If you struggle with being self-centred and you’d like to get over yourSELF, just start caring for the people who are closest to you.
Sadly, some people are more caring, loving, kind, and compassionate to others than they are to their own families. Which isn’t love at all – it’s more of a self-serving, self-glorifying kind of effort that is more of a publicity stunt than a charitable deed.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:1, “DON’T DO YOUR GOOD DEEDS PUBLICLY TO BE ADMIRED BY OTHERS.” It’s just another form of selfishness that is driven by one’s love for themselves.
With God’s love inside your heart, you have the power to live a self Less life.
The freedom of giving is greater than the imprisoning cages of greed and selfishness.
A self-centred life might seem advantageous, but it will only suffocate those who live that way. Being selfish and self-serving might fill their wallets and stroke their egos, but it will empty their hearts.
It will always be MORE BLESSED TO GIVE than to receive. MORE BLESSED to love, care for, and serve others. You have the Spirit of a generous giver and compassionate Comforter inside your heart. Choose to yield to Him and let His love make you a more loving, caring and selfless person.
Have an O for Awesome day. God bless and lots’a love,
