Over 21 high schools across Upolu and Savaii are gathered at St Joseph’s College for the Samoa Schools National XV’s Rugby Championship 2021.
The opening ceremony commenced at 10:30am prior to kick-off. The welcoming remarks was by Tuave Titi Toa who is the principal of Safata College, with opening remarks by the President of the Schools Rugby Union Siakisone Taleni.



The 3 day tournament kicked off today with quarter finals for the three boys divisions; Under 18, 16 and 14 years. There is only one division for girls, the Under 18s which will go straight to semi-finals on Wednesday.
There are 5 participating schools from Savaii, being Vaiola, Uesiliana, Itu-o-Tane, Palauli and Palauli-i-Sisifo. Itu-o-Tane and Palauli Colleges have both boys and girls teams. The third girls rugby team from the Big Island is from Palauli-i-Sisifo.
Three fields were used at St Joseph’s college for the three boys’ division matches, starting at 11:00am this morning with the last played at 3:30pm.

Quarter-finals took off today at 11:00am as the first of the 3 day tournament with semi-finals underway on Wednesday and finals which will be on Friday.
