Esau Luamanuvae Poe has been serving the Samoa Police for 32 years and last Friday his hard work and dedication was rewarded with a promotion to Police Inspector.
Well known to many as just “Esau” the 53 year old Inspector says it was not an easy journey; and acknowledges God for giving him the strength to persevere.
“I am speechless to express how I feel about my new promotion to Police Inspector,” he said.
“I thank God – for without His protection and guidance, I would not have made it this far,” Esau said.
Esau is currently serving in the General Policing Division and prior to his promotion to Police Inspector last Friday, he was a Senior Sergeant for more than 10 years.
Going forward Inspector Esau says he will keep in mind his oath; to serve Samoa with honesty and integrity.
“I will keep in mind that I should not favour someone who commits a crime and to make sure I serve the country with honesty,” he said.
The grandfather from Vaimoso and Salelologa was the most popular at the Honors Ceremony at Tanoa Tusitala. The room erupted with clapping and cheers when Esau’s name was read out.
He says this promotion is a reminder that there is always room to strive for the best, and no limit to grabbing opportunities such as this one.
“I will continue to work even harder for the Ministry of Police and Prisons; and God willing I’ll be serving for another 30 years!” he smiled.
