WALKING IN LOVE

Ephesians 5:1–2 “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

WE ARE DEARLY LOVED CHILDREN. Paul grounds Christian living in IDENTITY BEFORE INSTRUCTION. Everything we do should flow from the fact that we are dearly loved children of God. We don’t imitate God to earn His love; we walk in love because we already belong to Him.

To “walk in the way of love” isn’t an emotional feeling that you must have toward others—it’s a deliberate, daily posture shaped by the cross. Christ’s love was costly, sacrificial, and others-focused. He gave Himself freely, and His offering pleased the Father. This is the pattern set before us—not perfection, but direction.

Imitating God means letting love govern our steps: how we speak, how we respond, how we serve, and how we forgive. Love becomes the essence of our lives, not an occasional act. When love leads, pride loosens its grip, bitterness loses its power, and obedience becomes a joy rather than a burden.

This calling is both simple and profound: LIVE AS THOUGH YOU ARE DEARLY LOVED, THEN LOVE OTHERS AS CHRIST HAS LOVED YOU. As we do, our lives become a quiet offering—fragrant, faithful, and pleasing to God.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that I am Your dearly loved child. Teach me to walk in love as Christ has loved me. Shape my heart, my words, and my actions so that my life may honour You. May Your love be evident in all I do, for the glory of Jesus. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Have a great week. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
