“I am the Lord Your God, Do not Fear, I will Help You”

Happy Wednesday Saints.

Psalm 55:4-6 “MY HEART MURMURS WITHIN ME AND THE TERRORS OF DEATH ASSAIL ME. FEAR AND TREMBLING GRIP ME, AND HORROR HAS OVERWHELMED ME. I SAID, ‘OH THAT I HAD WINGS LIKE A DOVE! I WOULD FLY AWAY AND FIND REST.'”

We’ve been looking at how King David – a mighty man of war – dealt with fear. In the above passage, he was OVERWHELMED with fear and trembling, but he did the best thing possible – he prayed to God.

The Bible is filled with characters who were honest with God and one another about their fears and vulnerabilities.

Why are we so apprehensive about letting others know how we are really feeling? Many would rather suffer alone with their fears than look uneasy in front of others. And as a result, they miss out on receiving the encouragement they so desperately need.

God doesn’t expect you to be some kind of superhero and neither does anyone else. Mature Christians understand that we are all human; that now and then, we all experience fear.

Suppressing our fears or leaving them undealt with, won’t make them cease. Acknowledging them before the Lord helps get them out of our minds and opens our hearts to receive the Lord’s strength and encouragement.

Isaiah 41:13 says, “I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD WHO TAKES HOLD OF YOUR RIGHT HAND AND SAYS TO YOU, DO NOT FEAR, I WILL HELP YOU.”

God offers us His peace. He doesn’t want us to remain in a constant state of fear, and He doesn’t want us to be controlled by it either.

You can face your fears in the strength of the Lord, and His steadying presence can fill your heart with confidence and boldness that are not of this world.

Don’t ever hesitate to open your heart to the Lord and receive the help that you need to overcome your fears.

Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
