Heavy Rain Caused by Active Cloud Band Over Samoa


Weather Update Issued by Samoa Met Office 5am Monday 24th February 2020.

An active cloudband lies within the vicinity of the Samoa Islands as part of an active convergence zone; embedded with gusty winds and heavy rainfall as seen on the latest sattelite imageries.

This cloud band is expected to remain over Samoa today bringing windy and cloudy conditions, heavy downpours and  thunderstorms from time to time.

Heavy downpours with poor visibility. Foggy and slippery roads over mountain passes and ranges. Strong river outflow and landslides. Pooling near roadsides and waterways.

Strong currents and rough seas with coastal inundation.
