Out of Season. Proverbs 26:1 “Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, honour is not fitting for a fool.”
Snow in summer destroys crops before they can mature. Rain during harvest spoils what is ready to be gathered.
In the same way, when we place liars, corrupt people, or the morally bankrupt in places of honour or leadership, the results are damaging and disruptive.
They are “out of season” for the position—they lack the character, integrity, and wisdom that leadership demands.
When the wrong people lead, they create confusion instead of clarity, promote injustice instead of righteousness, and bring shame instead of blessing.

Scripture reminds us that honour is not fitting for a fool—leadership should be entrusted to those who walk humbly with God, who value truth, and who are committed to serving others above themselves.
True leadership isn’t about charm, popularity, or charisma—it belongs to those with integrity—those whose hearts are anchored in God’s truth.
When honour is misplaced, what could have been fruitful becomes damaged. That’s why we must be prayerful and intentional in supporting and promoting godly leaders—those who will protect, not spoil, what we hope to harvest together.
Our churches, communities, and nations desperately need leaders who will govern with honesty and courage. Just as a farmer prays for the right weather at the right time, we should pray for godly leadership—leaders who lead according to God’s wisdom.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant us wisdom to discern whom we honour and trust with leadership. Give us eyes to see and hearts to determine the right leaders for our churches, communities, and nations. Protect us from placing fools or the corrupt in positions of honour. Raise up men and women of integrity, who will lead with justice, humility, and reverence for You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a great week. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
