Hearing Date Finally Set for Former Prosecutor Charged with Manslaughter

The Supreme Court has finally been able to set a date for the case of former prosecutor Khamtahn Stanley charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of a 20 year old youth in November 2019.

Stanley and co-defendant Ulugia Lomalasi Laufili are jointly charged with manslaughter for allegedly beating a Vaiusu youth after he was caught breaking into Stanley’s home. The boy later died from his injuries.

Stanley and Ulugia entered not guilty pleas last year, through respective Counsels Afa Lesa and Steve Chan Chui.

Both defendants have been out on bail, ordered to sign in every Monday at the Apia Police Headquarters.

The Court has a hearing date of 20th of September 2021.
