Sunday 18 May 2025, Apia Samoa. This man, identified as ‘Duncan’ was seen fleeing the scene of a home break-in at Ululoloa on Sunday morning.
A video of him was taken by Ululoloa’s Neighborhood Watch as he drove past them at about 10:20am Sunday morning.
The owners of the home had already called the police and when he saw a police car approaching, he made a u-turn and sped away from them.
Neighbors watched as he drove his car back down the same dead-end road he had been parked earlier. He parked infront of a gated property.

According to police, by the time they had approached, he had abandoned his car and escaped on foot.
The suspect drove his car right up to the gates of a property at Ululoloa, one section away from the home that had been burgled.

When police approached the gate, a male resident of the property said they did not hear or know anything.
The resident refused to open the gate. Police never entered the property. It is not certain if police are seeking an urgent search warrant for this property.

Utensils were found inside the abondoned car, suggeesting the male is a drug user.
Two separate sources have told Samoa Global News that the property Duncan drove towards and parked his car infront of, is a known place of residence of a man known to be connected to drugs.
Police have since towed away the abandoned vehicle.
A police officer has also told the home owners that they cannot yet link Duncan to the unlawful entry and burglary of their property.
The video capturing Duncan’s face and the drone videos and images were taken by the Ululoloa Neighborhood Watch. This is an organised group of neighbours in the Ululoloa and Siusega area – who work together in efforts to keep their neighborhood safe.
The Ululoloa Neighborhood Watch communicate via an active Group Chat and report all and any suspicious persons or activity in their neighborhood.
Owners of the house he is supected to have broken into, is missing a 60-inch television and a UE Ultimate Ears Hyperboom Portable bluetooth speaker.
“It seems like they were only after electronics,” said the home owner.
Sources say, “He is a well known druggie who lives in Lalovaea”.
It is well known that when Police return from drug busts, there are a number of stolen items such as tvs, computers, mobile phones etc in their possession. These goods are well known to be exchanged for drugs.
It follows that as the drug problem continues to escalate in Samoa, home invasions and burglaries by desperate drug addicts will increase.
