God’s Word makes our souls prosper, and ready to face anything that may come our way

LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY from this day forward. May it "always be ready and at hand" for you "in everything."

Happy Thursday Saints.

Colossians 3:16 “LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY, TEACHING AND ADMONISHING ONE ANOTHER IN ALL WISDOM, SINGING PSALMS AND HYMNS AND SPIRITUAL SONGS, WITH THANKFULNESS IN YOUR HEARTS TO GOD.”

Along these lines, here’s a great quote from Matthew Henry. “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly. It must dwell in us, or keep house, not as a servant but as a master.

It must dwell in us, that is, always be ready and at hand for us in everything. It must dwell in us richly, not only keep house in our hearts, but keep a good house.

Many have the Word of Christ dwelling in them, but it dwells in them poorly. The soul prospers when the Word of God dwells in us richly, in all wisdom.

How does the Word of Christ dwell in you? Is His Word in your heart like a visiting guest or a permanent resident? Like a servant or a Master?

When it stays and dwells in you RICHLY, it overflows from your heart, and it governs your thoughts and actions.

The Word of God is not full of suggestions but commands. It doesn’t exist to serve us but to lead us. If we read or listen to it poorly, it won’t make a difference in our lives. But when we read it and receive it for what it is – THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD – our souls will prosper, and we’ll be ready to face anything that may come our way.

LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY from this day forward. May it “always be ready and at hand” for you “in everything.”

Have a great day. God bless, and lots’a love,

Warren
