Happy Thursday Saints.

Yesterday, we ended with the thought of getting proper rest so that you can accomplish more.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, “COME UNTO ME, ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARIED AND BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”

The Greek word translated “wearied” also means “tired; exhausted with toil; to labour with wearisome effort.”

When our labour becomes wearisome, and our work seems to be more of a burden than a blessing, the Lord wants us to come to Him.

It’s important to work hard. But there are times when pushing ourselves to get more done can actually be more harmful than productive.

God knows the importance of REST. Exodus 20:9-10 says, “YOU HAVE SIX DAYS EACH WEEK FOR YOUR ORDINARY WORK, BUT THE SEVENTH DAY IS A SABBATH DAY OF REST DEDICATED TO THE LORD YOUR GOD.”

Your mind, your emotions, your body, and your spirit need REST. And Isaiah 40:31 tells us that “THOSE WHO WAIT ON THE LORD SHALL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH.”

When you use the Sabbath day to REST from ALL your work and spend some time waiting on the Lord, He will RENEW your STRENGTH.

Jesus said, “I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”

And it’s the kind of rest that doesn’t come from getting more sleep, or from watching more TV. It’s peace and comfort that comes from the God of peace and the God of all comfort. It’s a renewed strength that can only come from an All-powerful God.

It’s about resting from ALL your toil so that God can refresh, renew, restore and revive you so that you can go further and accomplish more.

Stop what you’re doing and REST at the end of the week. Do no work this Sabbath. Spend time in the presence of the Lord and let Him breathe life back into all that you do.

God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
