It has been a difficult time of uncertainty for Samoa as the results of its recent General Elections remains in limbo. There is a noticeable divide amongst supporters of the two political parties: HRPP and FAST and we continue to pray for God’s peace.

As a nation founded on God, prayer warriors in Samoa and across the global community continue to commit Samoa into the loving arms of our Father in Heaven; God of Abraham, God of Moses, God of David – full of love, mercy and grace – who remains the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

What has been sad for our team at Samoa Global News to observe is the language used by Samoans toward one another when commenting on our Online News articles.

Abuse, threatening words, name-calling, unsubstantiated accusations aimed to defame people have made up the worst kind of cyber bullying we have ever witnessed since the establishment of Samoa Global News.

We tried as much as possible to remove these comments as they are harmful to our fellow citizens of high standing and we do not wish to be a platform for abuse, and because it is not God’s will for us to judge, curse other Christians, or use foul language. We even had to bring down a pictorial of photos taken in Court last week, because of the abusive language used towards our Women MPs, who have courageously pioneered women’s leadership for future daughters of Samoa. The abusive language used toward them was intolerable and we had to bring the post down.

Ephesians 4:29 NIV encourages us: “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen”.

We serve a God of Love and when asked what the greatest commandment was – Jesus said it was to Love God, and love one another.

Our Prayer for Today

We pray for peace over Samoa, and for the grace of God to be upon us all as we prepare for Sunday worship tomorrow. May we walk by your Word and love one another as you loved us and gave up your only Son Jesus Christ for us.

We pray for our beloved nation of Samoa, and uplift to you, Oh God in Heaven, all of our leaders.

We commit the future of Samoa, into your loving arms. Place our nation of Samoa, in the palms of your loving hands.

We pray and uplift both camps to you Father – Honourable Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi and all HRPP members, as well as Honourable Fiame Naomi Mataafa and all members of FAST.

May we wait patiently on YOU, our Lord and Saviour.

Forgive us for the wrongs that we have done through our actions and words and decisions; as we, too, forgive all those who have wronged us.

May your good and perfect will be done here on earth, as it is in heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus.

Amene.
