SEEING AND HEARING
Proverbs 20:12 “Ears that hear and eyes that see— the Lord has made them both.”
This short verse reminds us that the ability to hear and see is not something to take for granted. Our senses—both physical and spiritual—are gifts from God.
He is the one who created our ears to hear truth and our eyes to perceive what is real.
But more than just physical ability, this proverb speaks to the importance of being attentive and discerning.
Many people have ears but don’t truly listen. Others have eyes but fail to see what God is doing around them.
Jesus often said, “Whoever has ears, let them hear,” not because people lacked ears, but because they were not truly listening with their hearts.
We live in a world full of distractions, noise, and spiritual blindness. But God invites us to tune in—to hear His Word, to see His hand, to perceive His truth. When we do, we walk with greater wisdom, humility, and purpose.
So today, thank God not just for the gift of physical sight and sound, but also for the ability to understand and respond to His Word. Ask Him to open your eyes to what truly matters and your ears to His glorious Word.
Ask yourself:
Am I truly listening to what God is saying to me through His Word?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gift of sight and hearing. Open my spiritual eyes to see Your hand in my life and my ears to hear Your Word in the midst of the noise. Help me to listen with humility, see with discernment, and walk in wisdom. Use all that You’ve given me to bring You glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a fantastic day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
