2 Samuel 21:15 “DAVID WENT DOWN WITH HIS SOLDIERS AND THEY FOUGHT THE PHILISTINES, BUT DAVID BECAME EXHAUSTED.”
Your mind and body aren’t designed to operate at full capacity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We all go through periods of exhaustion and when we do, our mind and body cry out for care. The quickest way to burn out and quit is to ignore the warning signs that come with exhaustion.
It is not honourable to keep pressing on when you’re exhausted. Your mind and body are letting you know that you need to look after yourself before matters get worse.
If you don’t take the time to refresh your mind and rejuvenate your body, the things that require your attention will soon suffer. Exhaustion, when it is ignored, sets us up for defeat.
Don’t neglect your mental and physical health this week. Learn to replenish and recharge yourself.
If you don’t take the time to refresh your mind and rejuvenate your body, the things that require your attention will soon suffer.
It’s important to recognise when you are feeling fatigued. We make unwise decisions when we are exhausted. Overwhelmed with tiredness, your mind won’t be clear and your thoughts will be cluttered with confusion.
NEVER MAKE ANY MAJOR DECISIONS WHEN YOU ARE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY EXHAUSTED.
If you continue to push the boundaries and ignore your mental and physical limitations, you will burn out. Exhaustion increases the likelihood of failure.
When we are exhausted we lose our mental sharpness and our physical vitality. Our work starts to suffer; we lose our joy; we become more negative; we become increasingly impatient and frustrated with others; we lack energy and enthusiasm, and we become stressed-out. Things that we would normally conquer and accomplish become irritating and overwhelming.
THIS IS NOT GOD’S WILL FOR YOU.
In Jeremiah 31:25 the Lord said, “I WILL REFRESH THE WEARY SOUL AND REPLENISH ALL WHO ARE WEAK.”
You can’t operate at your full potential on a consistent basis without the Lord.
He created us with the need to engage with Him for strength and endurance.
If you’ve been stressed out and unclear about things lately, spend some time with the Lord in prayer. Get some rest and refresh yourself in the Lord.
Isaiah 40:29 states that the Lord “GIVES STRENGTH TO THE WEARY AND INCREASES THE POWER OF THE WEAK.”
God can restore your mental and physical edge. He can renew your joy and revive your confidence. Let Him comfort, support and encourage you today.
God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
