Happy Tuesday Saints.
1 SAMUEL 30:6 “DAVID WAS GREATLY DISTRESSED FOR THE PEOPLE SPOKE OF STONING HIM… BUT DAVID STRENGTHENED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD.” It’s really up to you how long you feel distressed.
I understand that the current pandemic can make us feel uncertain and uneasy about what the future holds but as Christians, we have access to God.
We don’t have to be anxious or worried about what may or may not transpire as a result of Covid 19. We are God’s children. He invites us to cast ALL our cares upon Him.
He doesn’t want us to be distressed and troubled about anything. These negative emotions are a sure sign that we are not relying on God but ourselves. David was GREATLY DISTRESSED and so he chose to STRENGTHEN HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD. Did you notice that it says, ‘the Lord HIS God’? It’s a reflection of the kind of relationship that David shared with the Lord.
He was God’s and God was his. He knew exactly Who he could turn to when he was distressed. The Hebrew word translated “STRENGTHENED HIMSELF” means “to fasten upon, to bind, to be strong, to conquer.”
It conveys the idea of fastening ourselves to God and binding ourselves to Him so that we can receive the strength that we need to conquer our circumstances.
You have access to an Omnipotent God who can strengthen you during this pandemic and give you what you need to conquer what lies ahead. So draw near to God and fasten yourself to Him today. Have an awesome one.
God bless and lots’a love, Warren
