“Today is the big day” for Team Samoa over in Sydney, Australia with their first game of the PasificAus Sports Netball Series, where Samoa is due to play Fiji at 5:30pm (Samoan Time). Samoa is up against Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga and Singapore at the series that will take place at the Sydney Olympic Park from March 21 to 26.
Throughout this past week, Team Samoa has been through intensive training sessions and matches against local teams to help prepare themselves for the campaign.



One Court, One Family is the theme behind the series and aims to develop pathways for Pacific teams to play in high-level Australian sporting competitions, create pathways for emerging Pacific athletes to benefit from high performance coaching and training. Another key aim is to support Australian teams to increase their presence and participation in the Pacific.

The inaugural event is hosted by Netball Australia and funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), with the hope to further strengthen international netball relationships whilst still providing the teams with high-level competition needed in the lead up to the Oceania Netball World Cup Qualifiers in Fiji, July 2022.
