Former Police Sergeant Reupena Oloapu appeared in the Supreme Court of Samoa this week to face three sexual assault related charges against him. It is alleged that Oloapu sexually violated a fellow police officer at the Fagamalo Police Post, in February this year.
Oloapu was the Officer in Charge (OIC) at Fagamalo Police Post during the time of the alleged incident.
Oloapu appeared unrepresented, and the Court postponed the matter for mention next week, to give his counsel obtained through legal aid, Leinafo Taimalelagi, time to obtain full instructions.
This is the second case of workplace sexual harassment reported in the past week. Today, a former finance office of the Samoa Water Authority was found guilty of sexual assault towards a female co-worker who had been working after hours in May 2020.
