16 March 2021, Apia. Two former staff of the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration’s (MJCA)  Corporate Services Division denied allegations that they had stolen over $300,000 tala from the Ministry.

Sera Skelton and Ana Fuatavai together face more than 100 charges of theft as a servant in the Supreme Court of Samoa.

By the time the alleged acts surfaced, Sera Skelton had served as Head of the Corporate Services division of MJCA for over 12 years, having been granted 4 consecutive three-year contracts. Her direct report is charged alongside her.

They first appeared unrepresented before the Court in January with holding charges as prosecution said police were finalising charges against them.

Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma set the week commencing 29th November, later this year for the hearing.

Sera and Ana are on bail, to sign in at the Apia Police Headquarters to await trial.
