Fifth Round of Samoa’s Vodafone National Sevens Series Underway at Apia Park Stadium

Saturday 15 January 2022 Apia. Samoa’s Top 16 men’s rugby sevens clubs and Top 4 women’s will vye for the 5th and final leg of the Vodafone National 7s tournament at Apia Park Stadium today.
The 2-day tournament started on Friday and today’s Day 2 action will see both men and womens teams move into quarter finals.
The Women’s quarter finals will kick starts the day with Apia Marion’s taking on LA Oso and Striders up against No Idea.
The bottom 8 for men sees one team from Savaii – Pacific Ezy Money Transfer’s Safotu side will play St Pierre Malotau. Vaimoso will take on Lulimaivini Ulutogia and AST SCOPA will face Sataoa. The 4th quarter final for 9th place is between SSAB’s Sosoese Samatau and the side from Siumu.

The excitement around the men’s quarter finals is heightened by the fact that just one point separates the competition’s top two sides. Tournament leaders Tepatasi at 79 points will play off against Marist St Joseph’s in the first men’s QFÂ while the popular Tama Uli side from Salelologa Savaii with 78 overall points will play the 4th round champions, BBE Vaiala. The other two QFs will see Apia Maroon’s take on Motaa and the Laulii Lions taking on Lupesiliva.

Who will claim the Round 5 crown? Will it be Tepatasi, Ott Constructors Tama Uli or BBE Vaiala? Or will a new champion emerge?
