Samoa’s Fetu Under 16 Girls Rugby League side have won the inaugural 2022 Pacific Youth Cup competition held this week at Cornwall Park in Auckland.



Captained by Alice Shannon, Fetu went undefeated in the two days of competition, securing the Cup with a 16 – 6 final against the New Zealand Maori U16s on Friday.
The young Samoa side had played and beaten the NZ Maori team on the first day of competition by 18-4.







Their second match against Tonga was a whopping 30-0.
On day 2 Fetu met Tonga again for the semi-final, nearly doubling this margin to 56 – 0.
The Player of the Tournament was awarded to hooker Mary-Jane Taito of Samoa.
