Tuesday 5 April 2022, Apia Samoa. The Samoa Shipping Corporation (SSC) have issued ferry times for travel between Upolu and Savaii following a Cabinet Directive that Samoa would move to Level 2, with restrictions.  Those restrictions, for the SSC, means limited sailings between the two islands with passengers limited to 30 as stipulated in the latest State of Emergency Order No 75.

Travel resumes on Wednesday, 6 April with a 6am sailing of the Samoa Express II, the only vessel that will service the Mulifanua to Salelologa route during the period of limited restrictions on passengers, the SSC confirms in a public notice.

Sailings will be open to the general public under the new conditions from tomorrow, Wednesday 06 April 2022, resuming with a 6am sailing.

SSC have issued the sailing times for the MV Samoa Express II as:

– Depart Mulifanua at 6am

– Depart Salelologa at 8am

-Depart Mulifanua at 10am

– Depart Salelologa at 12pm

The schedule sets out two options for travellers from an Upolu to Savaii – with a sailing at 6am and 10am, and two options from Salelologa to Mulifanua being 8am and 12pm.

With the limited numbers restricted under 5(3)(a) of the latest Order, this means travel between the two islands will be limited to a maximum of 60 passengers a day for this current Level 2.

Passengers are reminded that they must have with them, their vaccination covid-19 card, and be wearing a face mask at all times, as well as maintain the 2-meter distance requirement while on the wharf and on the ferry.

The public is also reminded that current SOE Orders do not permit children under 12 years old to be in public, including public transport.

Vehicle tickets can be bought either from the Shipping House at Matautu tai or at the SSC ticket offices at both ports.
