23 February 2019, Salelologa. Press Release. Local financial services provider Federal Pacific Group consolidated Savaii operations for its Insurance, Finance and Money Transfer interests under one roof with the dedication of Federal Pacific House in Salelologa this week.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Savaii business community, family and friends. Also present were representatives of the Group from around the Asia Pacific Region who were in Samoa this week for the Regional Managers Meeting. Reverend Elder Ioane Viliamu of the Fogapoa and Tuasivi EFKS blessed the building and spoke on the importance of seeking God in these endeavours.

Representing the Government were the Minister for Commerce, Industry Labour and Public Enterprises, Hon. Lautafi Selafi Purcell, as well as the two Associate Ministers, Hon Tofa Lio Foleni and Hon Leanatai Victor Tamapua.

Hon Lautafi told the invited guests the dedication of the new building in Salelologa was in keeping with the Governments’ commitment to the development vision for Savaii – “what is good in Apia will also be good in Savaii”.

“The Government welcomes and encourages this type of development here in Savaii as part of the drive to help create jobs and thus keep our young people here rather than leaving home and going all the way to Apia for work,” he said.

The Hon Minister encouraged guests to support Savaii-based businesses to help drive development for Savaii.

“I note that this building is the fourth for Federal Pacific Group in the region, one in Apia, one in Nukualofa, Tonga, one in Avarua in the Cook Islands and now in Salelologa”

The Hon Minister further commended the Group for having the vision and courage to expand its business outside of Samoa which shows that we also have the ability and capacity to do so, just like overseas businesses that expand their operations into our country.

“The aim being to help customers the creation of a one-stop shop for its services. This should simplify and save time for our people here in Savaii” the Minister said.

General Manager of Federal Pacific Insurance, Namulauulu Papalii Sami Leota said in going ahead with the project, the Group had identified a need to bring all its interests together – insurance, finance and money transfers.

Namulauulu particularly acknowledged its partnership with the Government of Samoa, “ especially with granting us this piece of land to further develop our business. They have been supporting our course from the outset both here in Samoa and also overseas.”

“Centralising all our services into one location is key in our dedication to improving the efficiency of our services for the people of Savaii,” said Namulauulu.

The building was constructed by Evaeva Construction in a period of just over five months with a total costs of land fill, building and its office contents close to a million tala.

Namulauulu acknowledged its Chairman and Directors as well as the team effort in completing the new building and in particular by General Manager, Federal Pacific Finance, Afamasaga Opeta Siilata who project managed the build.
