James 2:17 “THUS ALSO FAITH BY ITSELF, IF IT DOES NOT HAVE WORKS IS DEAD.”
A footnote in the Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible says, “Faith without works is dead; works without faith is dead. Neither is complete in itself. It is like fire burning without fuel and fuel burning without fire… it is not so because such is contrary to the creative makeup and the laws that govern fire and fuel.”
True faith can be seen. It’s evident in the life of a believer. You can see it in the way they act, hear it in the way they talk and recognize it in their attitude. Just as you can’t have fire without fuel, you can’t say that someone is a person of faith if you can’t see any corresponding action.
Corrie Ten Boom once said, “Don’t worry about what you don’t understand. Worry about what you do understand in the Bible but do not live by.”
There’s a lot that you already know and understand from the Bible, and it’s time to release it into action. Faith must have corresponding actions for it to produce any results in your life.
So, LET IT OUT! Release the truth you know with faith-filled action. God’s promises are still valid… no matter what you may be facing.
