The man accused of killing a 24 year old male from Lona, Fagaloa in the early hours of New Year’s Day has filed a bail application before the Court.
Solomua Paisu Tafili faces a murder charge for allegedly stabbing Ioapo Tavae Lavatai causing his death. The defendant also faces one charge of assault and one charge of possessing an unlawful weapon, namely a knife.
At the time of the incident, Police reported that consumption and influence of alcohol was involved.
Anne Matalasi stood in for Aeau Tima Leavai, representing the defendant.
Prosecutor Fuifui Ioane requested a one week adjournment for police to finalise charges.
Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma adjourned the matter to the 15th of February 2021 to also allow Prosecution to consider the bail application already filed by defence counsel.
