EFKS “Tautua i Puapuaga o Tagata” Present Annual Donation of $70k to Samoa’s Health Services

18 May 2023 Apia Samoa. The Ministry of Health and the National Kidney Foundation of Samoa have been blessed once again by the annual donation of the EFKS (Congregational Christian Church) women’s champions – the Tautua i Puapuaga o Tagata (TPT) group.
Each year during the fonotele (annual church conference) the TPT present a monetary donation that is broken down to ensure both rural and urban health services are covered.
In the exact same breakdown as last year, the 2023 donation includes $50,000 tala for the National Kidney Foundation, specifically tagged as $20,000 tala for Tuasivi operations in Savaii and $30,000 for the more densley populated main clinic at Motootua.
As was the case last year and the year before, the TPT have also donated $20,000 tala to go towards the needs of district hospitals – $10,000 for Savaii DHs and $10,000 for those in Upolu.
Government through the Ministry of Health has applauded the annual donation of $70,000 from the faletua of the EFKS.
The cheques were handed over during a formal ceremony on Friday morning 19 May 2023. TPT members presented the monetary gift to the Ministry of Health’s ACEO, Tagaloa Dr. Robert Thomsen.
The donation are distributed as follows;
• $10,000 – services for Samoa National Hospital at Motootua
• $10,000 – services for hospitals in Savaii
• $30,000 – National Kidney Foundation (N.K.F) at Motootua
• $20,000 – National Kidney Foundation (N.K.F) at Tuasivi in Savaii.
Tagaloa expressed the Government’s gratitude for kindness and continued generosity shown by the Tautua i Puapuaga o Tagata towards the Ministry of Health Foundations and people of Samoa.
