EFKS Donates $300,000 to Samoa Measles Recovery Efforts

The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (EFKS) presented their donation of ST$300,000 tala today at a ceremony before the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Church Secretary Vavatau Taufao said the donation was collected from various denominations adding that the collection process is ongoing and they expect to hand over additional funds as they come in.

The Prime Minister spoke on behalf of the Government to thank the Church Elders who attended to hand over the funds.

“Faafetai tele i le Ekalesia le lagolago mai i le taumafaiga a lo tatou malo, e lagona o a outou tatalo lea e manuia ai faiva o le malo i le tau foia ai o lenei faama’i.”

The EFKS has Church is the oldest denomination in Samoa with over 75,000 members, 327 congregations and 300 house fellowships in Samoa alone. Its strength is based on the additional congregations of Samoans in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Tutuila and Fiji.
