A Women’s Fellowship of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (EFKS) named, Tautua i Puapuaga o Tagata (TPT) continue to make its annual donation to the National Kidney Foundation and other areas of the Ministry of Health including Savaii.

Presented annually to coincide with the Fono Tele (annual church conference) at Malua, this years donation was again $70,000.

As usual, the TPT are very specific about the donation, outlining the breakdown of where the funds are to be allocated.

The Samoa National Kidney Foundation (SNKF) receives $50,000 tala with a very specific split of $20,000 for Tuasivi operations in Savaii and $30,000 for the more densley populated main clinic at Motootua.

The TPT have also donated $20,000 to go towards needs of district hospitals – $10,000 for Savaii DHs and $10,000 for those in Upolu.

The TPT have been donating to the Samoa National Kidney Foundation since its inception in 2005. In 2019, the women’s fellowship decided to increase its annual donation from $40,000 to $70,000 to include the expansion of NKF services  in Savaii.

A handover ceremony was held today, 26 September 2022 by the President of the TPT, Teki Uilelea and distinguished members of the foundation.

They presented the monetary gift to the Honourable Minister of Health, Valasi Luapitoifanua To’ogamaga Tafito Selesele.

The Minister, on behalf of the Government, expressed his gratitude to the Tautua i Puapuaga o Tagata for their kindness and continued generosity to the Ministry of Health and the people of Samoa.
