A 5.6 magnitude earthquake 93.3 kilometres Southwest of Upolu Island and 99km from Lotofagā struck at 12:20pm this afternoon, Thursday 6th May 2020.

The earthquake 33km in depth did not trigger a tsunami warning.

This is the second earthquake in two months for Samoa, as a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck 237km from Samoa on the 18th of March.
