Happy Thursday Saints.

2Timothy 4:4 “THEY WILL TURN THEIR EARS AWAY FROM THE TRUTH AND TURN ASIDE TO MYTHS.”

The word “MYTHS” in the above verse can be slightly misleading. Many think that they can easily spot a “myth” and, therefore, can’t be deceived or fooled into believing lies.

But the Greek word translated as “MYTHS” also means “a speech; a word; an invention; a saying; a story; a falsehood; and a true narrative.”

One of the reasons why people will “TURN ASIDE TO” false teachings and erroneous doctrines is because they will have an appearance of truth that will be delivered with persuasive speeches, catchy words, and inventive stories that charismatic preachers and speakers will deliver.

Many will be deceived because the deception won’t be easily discernable when covered in cotton candy.

As you commit to growing in your understanding of God’s Word in 2023, you’ll be able to detect the truth from lies and fact from fiction. You’ll be able to spot narratives that appear true and sound genuine but aren’t in line with God’s Word.

Psalm 119:160 says, “THE ENTIRETY OF YOUR WORD IS TRUTH, AND EVERY ONE OF YOUR RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENTS ENDURES FOREVER.”

The Bible is all you need to judge what others say or write. If I write or say anything that contradicts the Word of God – reject my comments and stick with God’s Word.

Don’t be afraid to judge preachers, teachers, prophets, apostles, pastors, evangelists, and authors. They/we are all fallible and imperfect. Only the Bible is infallible and 100% trustworthy.

Stick with God’s Word, and it’ll light the path to a fruitful and fulfilling life.

Have a great day. God bless, and lots’a love,

Warren
