Digicel Samoa continues to support social and economic development through sports, partnering with the Samoa Tag Association to support it’s international Teuila tournament.



Tag is becoming the fastest growing sport in Samoa and this week, over 40 teams from 10 countries will bring the action to Apia Park for the two-day tournament scheduled for 8-9 September 2023.
In a statement, Digicel Samoa’s Chief Executive Officer Anthony Seuseu says Digicel is proud of its partnership with Samoa Tag in support of this prestigious international event.

The event has been organised to the highest level of international standards and this yeat will see the largest ever contingent of over 3,000 team members from across the Pacific with over 10 international teams competing in Samoa.
President of Samoa Tag and the man with the passion behind the development of the sport, Fa’aofonuu JP Leota, said he was delighted to have Digicel Samoa on board and thanked the CEO and Digicel for putting their trust in his team and organising committee.

As teams start to arrive at Faleolo International Airport, they are seen taking photos infront of the Digicel airport store, and sure to be getting their travel sims to stay connected while in Apia.
The event will be conducted under high-level international standards and Samoa Tag have brought in qualified and experienced referees to officiate the highest level of competition experience for the participating teams.

Samoa Tag have also announced exciting matches between Samoa and New Zealand’s law enforcement agencies with scheduled matches for Samoa Police and the New Zealand Police for both men women!
Shield matches will be played between the New Zealand Women’s Police and the Samoa Womens Police services followed by the NZ Police Men’s versus a Samoa Police Men’s team, as part of the action this weekend at Apia Park.
Over 40 teams will go to battle for Tag supremacy over various grades.
