Digicel Samoa Becomes a Gold Sponsor of Marist St Joseph Sports Club

Digicel Samoa have come on board as Gold Sponsors valued at $50,000 for the 2022 Marist St Joseph’s sports season. An official ceremony was held last Thursday at the Digicel Samoa office headquarters at the SNPF Plazza.

Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Samoa, afioga Seiuli Deepak Khanna said they are excited about the partnership with Marist St Joseph’s Sports Club, who continue to set a platform for the development of youth, and enhance sporting talents across multiple sports.

Digicel’s Gold sponsorship includes support to not only the 34th Vailima Marist 7’s set for the 25th and 26th of March, but also the sports seasons for boxing, netball, rugby leauge and touch rugby.

Seiuli wished the club well as it geared up to the start of the sports season, which kicks off with the popular Vailima Marist 7’s.  “From Digicel Samoa, we wish you all the best. We fully support the sporting initiatives and acknowledge the role you play to help our young players to develop their talent, and pursue careers and a future in sports…

“This work is well aligned with Digicel’s mandate to invest in projects and initiatives that contribute to the social and economic development of the community, and improve livelihoods of families across Samoa.”

The newly elected President of the MSJ Sports Club, Mr Pouniu Peter Schmidt, said he was humbled to speak on behalf of the Martist family, to convey the club’s appreciation to Digicel for coming on board as a sponsor.

He said sports has been identified as a pathway for the development of Samoa’s youth, and Digicel’s support will go a long way to assist the club’s work towards providing inclusive, equitable opportunities for up and coming sporting talents in Samoa.
