Digicel Samoa has proudly announced its support as a Silver Sponsor of the Samoa Men’s Deaf 7s Team, who will represent Samoa at the Pacific Rim Deaf Rugby 7s in Australia from 28–29 June 2025. This partnership reflects Digicel’s ongoing commitment to promoting community health, well-being, and inclusion through sport, particularly among vulnerable and underrepresented groups.
Digicel Samoa CEO Karl Vizvary said: “At Digicel, we believe in the power of sport to unite communities and uplift individuals. Supporting the Samoa Men’s Deaf 7s team is not just about sponsorship – it’s about standing with a group of inspiring athletes who embody resilience, pride and spirit of inclusion. We’re honoured to be part of their journey to the Pacific Rim Deaf Rugby 7s and proud to champion a more inclusive Samoa”
The team recently participated in exhibition matches at the Moataa Centennial Rugby 7s Tournament on 6-7th June 2025. This opportunity provided valuable game-time experience and a national platform to showcase the skill and determination of the Deaf athletes in front of local supporters.
President of the Samoa Deaf Association, Eli Enesi Sio, expressed heartfelt thanks for Digicel’s timely contribution. “We are truly grateful for this significant support from Digicel,” said Eli. “As we enter our final weeks of preparation before departing on 25th June, this sponsorship provides a boost to the team’s morale and readiness. It’s more than just support—it’s a strong message of inclusion and belief in our athletes.”
The Samoa Deaf 7s team is preparing with pride and determination to represent Samoa on an international platform, and this partnership with Digicel Pacific ensures they do so with the backing of a committed corporate partner.
