Digicel Samoa in partnership with Samoa Stationary and Books (SSAB) have announced the introduction of MyCash QR Payment Services as an alternative method of payment at SSAB stores.
The cashless service focuses on making financial transactions safer and easier for customers.
Samoans are now able to walk into SSAB outlets and use the MyCash QR Pay service to make digital payments from their MyCash mobile wallet.
According to SSAB CEO, Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai, “Agreeing to have SSAB as a MyCash agent was simply to have the payment service available at all our stores and especially when our customers want to use the service.”
“I congratulate the amazing Digicel team for the great initiative…thank you for introducing this new payment service to SSAB. Undoubtedly, it will contribute to our goal of providing excellent service to our customers every day.”

Digicel Samoa CEO, Seiuli Deepak Khanna, said; “Enhancing the digital lifestyle of our customers is usually a key focus for Digicel Samoa as a Digital Operator. SSAB coming on board as a merchant is part of our priority to expand the agents and merchants distribution network in Samoa, making cashless transactions the new norm.”
“Over the last two years with COVID’s impact, we have seen our customer behaviour shifting and the need to match their demand for safe, contactless and digital payment transactions on MyCash. We look forward to rolling out more merchants in the near future,” added Seiuli.
Head of Digicel Mobile Financial Services, Anup Kumar highlighted that growing the reach of the MyCash user network is important to the Digicel Company.
The “MyCash mobile wallet” app is available to download and is zero-rated, meaning it won’t consume data from the customer’s plan when using it.
