Thursday, 14th September 2023, Apia Samoa. Digicel Samoa and Frankie Supermarket have teamed up to introduce a groundbreaking digital innovation in Samoa.

Customers can now use their mobile phones to scan and pay for their shopping at Frankie cashiers, thanks to the Digicel MyCash application scan and pay feature.

Fastest Network in all four countries Digicel operates in.

This eliminates the need to carry cash and enables customers to conveniently transfer money to their MyCash wallet from anywhere in the world, instantly covering their grocery expenses.

To celebrate the ‘Scan and Pay with MyCash’ promotion, customers who shop at Frankie Supermarket using MyCash can  win $20,000 tala worth of prizes over the next ten weeks.

Prizes will include flat screen TVs, toasters, radios, fans, mobile phones and credit vouchers.

The launch was held on Thursday morning at the main Frankie Hypermarket in Vaitele attended by numerous shoppers and Digicel and Frankie staff. The promotion will continue for ten weeks with prizes drawn every week.

“This was an idea that Digicel presented to Frankie for a while now,” said Mayday Luang Hing, Frankie Managing Director.

“I recall Digicel knocking at our door to present new initiatives that would benefit both Frankie and shoppers..”

Mrs Luang Hing says the Scan and Pay with MyCash was one that caught their interest and they decided to work on together.

“I believe that it is better to make the most of an opportunity, when it presents itself,” said Mayday Luang Hing, Managing Director.

Shoppers are encouraged to download the MyCash app for free on their mobile phones and scan the QR code at Frankie’s cashiers to pay for their shopping to be in to win.
