Happy Tuesday Saints.
1 Chronicles 18:1 tells us that “WHILE DAVID WAS KING OF ISRAEL, HE WON MANY BATTLES…”
David fought many battles in his lifetime. Many of the Psalms are like David’s prayer journals, and in them, he pours his heart out to God, sharing his fears, frustrations, anxieties and concerns. He held NOTHING back from the shepherd of his soul.
In Psalm 23, David was relaxing in the presence of the Lord.
He knew that the Lord was the shepherd, the protector and the caretaker of his soul.
Psalm 23:5 says “YOU PREPARE A TABLE BEFORE ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES.”
After the Lord RESTORES and refreshes David’s soul, David knows that he has nothing to fear. His confidence is renewed. And even in the valley of the shadow of death, he FEARS NO EVIL because he knows that the Good Shepherd is with him.
Like David, we all need to make time for prayer, time to spend in the presence of the Lord restoring our soul.
If you rush from one battle to the next without stopping to be restored, you’ll be overworked and too weak for victory. Continue to get refreshed and restored with the Lord this week.
God bless and lots’a love, Warren
