Happy Friday Saints.
2Corinthians 4:8 “WE ARE HARD PRESSED ON EVERY SIDE, BUT NOT CRUSHED; PERPLEXED, BUT NOT IN DESPAIR.”
The Greek word translated ‘hard pressed’ means ‘troubled, afflicted, pressed hard upon (like grapes).’
There are times when it seems like trouble is pressing up hard against us from every side. But remember what we’ve seen this week – you can still have peace in the midst of the storm. You can be hard pressed on every side but NOT CRUSHED. Other translations say ‘NOT DISTRESSED.’
Remaining stressed over your circumstances is a choice. The God of peace offers you hope in the midst of this pandemic.
You can even be PERPLEXED right now. You can be totally confused and unsure of what is going on around you and yet ‘NOT BE IN DESPAIR.’
The Greek word for ‘despair’ means ‘utterly lost and without hope.’ But today’s passage tells us that even when you don’t know what’s going on, you do NOT have to despair. It’s OK to not know what’s going on as long as you know the God who does.
God knows more than us, sees more than us and understands more than us. He knows what is ahead of us and if you’ll follow Him diligently, He will guide your steps and give you perfect peace.
Continue to draw near to God and let Him give you His peace this weekend.
God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
