Happy Thursday Saints.

Colossians 3:12 “THEREFORE AS GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE, HOLY AND DEARLY LOVED, CLOTHE YOURSELVES WITH COMPASSION, KINDNESS, HUMILITY, GENTLENESS AND PATIENCE.”

As God’s CHOSEN PEOPLE who are HOLY AND DEARLY LOVED, we’ve been set apart by the Lord and are expected to live our lives in an entirely different manner from the rest of the world.

Verse 5 of the same chapter says to “PUT TO DEATH WHAT BELONGS TO YOUR EARTHLY NATURE.”

There are things that the Lord wants us to “PUT TO DEATH” or stop doing. And then, as His CHOSEN PEOPLE, there are things that He wants us to do.

He wants us to CLOTHE ourselves with COMPASSION. Just like how you chose what clothes to wear today, there are godly characteristics that the Lord would like us to choose. And one of those traits is COMPASSION.

The Greek word translated ‘compassion’ also means, ‘mercy; a heart of compassion; manifestations of pity.’

It’s about having a heart of compassion for others and manifesting it through our actions. It’s more than just having empathy for the hardships and sufferings of those around us – it’s about making an effort to help them.

Christianity is not just about not harming or mistreating others; it’s also about doing all the good that we can to help them.

In a world that is filled with selfishness, greed, and narcissism – being selfless, compassionate, and understanding toward the suffering of others will demonstrate the goodness of God.

We have been chosen to live a life that is beyond ourselves – a life that is more than just about taking care of our own families, going to work, paying the bills and having some fun. We’ve been set apart as God’s chosen people to love and care for others – especially those who are of the household of faith.

Clothe yourself with COMPASSION today and let it move you to do something to help those around you.

Have a fantastic day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
