Happy Friday Saints.
Colossians 3:12 “THEREFORE, AS GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE, HOLY AND DEARLY LOVED, CLOTHE YOURSELVES WITH COMPASSION, KINDNESS, HUMILITY, GENTLENESS AND PATIENCE.”
Humble people don’t feel the need to impress anyone. Their confidence is in the Lord, who has nothing to prove to anyone.
As we saw yesterday, when it comes to social media, it all comes down to the intentions of the one who is posting.
It’s good to share positive reports like an engagement, the birth of a child, or some news that we know would bless, encourage or inspire others.
However, too many give PRAISE REPORTS that glorify themselves and make them look better than they actually are. They give off an “I AM BETTER THAN YOU” vibe – that doesn’t inspire anyone. Their motivation is the promotion and exaltation of SELF.
Proverbs 25:27 says, “IT IS NOT GOOD TO EAT MUCH HONEY; SO TO SEEK ONE’S OWN GLORY IS NOT GLORY.”
It’s ironic that when we seek to impress others, our boasting has the opposite effect.
Philippians 2:3 says, “DO NOTHING OUT OF SELFISH AMBITION OR EMPTY PRIDE, BUT IN HUMILITY CONSIDER OTHERS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOURSELVES.”
“Boast Posting” is empty pride that is selfish, callous, and insensitive to the needs and situations of others. It can make others envious, jealous and covetous.
If we CONSIDER OTHERS MORE IMPORTANT than ourselves, then we should be careful about WHAT we post and check our hearts for WHY we post.
When it comes to posting on social media – CLOTHE YOURSELVES WITH COMPASSION, KINDNESS, HUMILITY and GENTLENESS. May your posts be inspired by a genuine love for God and a sincere love for others.
Have a great day and an even better weekend. God bless, and lots’a love,
