There has been some confusion about the preliminary result for Siumu, due to errors in the poster prepared and published by the team from the Office of Electoral Commission.
This below are the correct numbers from the various voting booths for Siumu.

You will see that Booth 22.5 is recorded as:
Faalogo Kapiliele Faalogo: 72
Faiva Laulau Asofolau: 38
Tofaeono Meaalofa: 2
Tuuu Anasii Leota: 116
Tuuu Ekiumegi Fauolo: 11
The correct preliminary results as reported earlier has Independent Faalogo Kapiliele Faalogo with a total of 449 votes to Tuuu Anasii Leota’s 407.
From the Siumu official OEC Board, the preliminary results and totals for each candidate are:
Faalogo Kapiliele Faalogo: 449
Faiva Laulau Asofolau: 298
Tofaeono Meaalofa: 18
Tuuu Anasii Leota: 407
Tuuu Ekiumegi Fauolo: 34
Faaologo is 42 votes ahead, before pre-polling and special votes are counted. Siumu is scheduled for 9am Tuesday 2nd September 2025.
The confusion has been caused by the OEC publishing a poster with an error as seen below:

This public post on the OEC Facebook page remains up at the time of this publication and has not yet been corrected.
Corrections have been published by members of the FAST party through public posts such as these below, highlighting that the number should be 116 and not 11.

This has led the public to believe that the original count was incorrect, that Tuuu Anasii ought to be ahead. However, the count and the Official Board are correct, however, the OEC poster is incorrect.
The numbers recorded posted on the official boards at Tuanaimato on Friday night are correct and remain the same. It is the OEC publication which has the wrong numbers.
A mistype, human error as all the staff are running on little or no sleep.
We call on OEC to perhaps stop posting these results by booth if they are going to continue to contain errors and cause confusion. Or make sure two people are triple checking the information on the posters before they are published on the OEC Facebook page please.
Any error in reporting causes unnecessary confusion and conflict at this time, and affects candidates and their families.
O loo nofo tapuai le mamalu o le atunuu e tālia le faaiuga o le faigapalota. Ia faatasi mai pea Le Alii ia Samoa ae maise the Ofisa o Faigapalota e le faigofie le galuega fita o loo feagai ai.
God Bless Samoa.
