Happy Wednesday Saints.

Matthew 11:28-29 “COME UNTO ME, ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU AND LEARN FROM ME, FOR I AM GENTLE AND HUMBLE IN HEART, AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.”

Christ offers us REST, but we have to be in the right place to receive it. He invites us to COME to Him. Rest is the EXPERIENCE; drawing near to God is POSITIONING ourselves in the right place to receive it.

Jesus invites you to TAKE His yoke. He won’t force His yoke upon you. You have to draw near to Him and accept it.

In ancient times, a yoke was placed upon two oxen to enable them to work a field together. Farmers would often place a young ox with a stronger and more experienced ox so that the younger one would learn how to behave and labour.

Jesus invites us to LEARN from Him. He’s not just stronger and more experienced – He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the great I AM. “IN HIM, WE LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING.”

All of us are yoked to something or someone. Whatever or whoever you are yoked with will determine your experience. If you aren’t finding any “REST” for your soul, then you’re probably not yoked to Christ.

You won’t find “REST” yoking yourself to your work, job, sports club, hobbies, family, friends, or colleagues. These things aren’t bad; they simply aren’t the source of true peace and “REST.”

You might enjoy them and find them comforting and relaxing, but they won’t give you “REST.”

Only one yoke can free you from the restlessness of this world and give you true peace. If you’ll TAKE Christ’s yoke, you can LEARN from the Master who is GENTLE AND HUMBLE how to FIND REST FOR YOUR SOUL.

Have a fabulous day. God bless and lots’a love,

Warren
