Happy Thursday Saints.
1Peter 3:18 “FOR CHRIST ALSO SUFFERED FOR SINS ONCE FOR ALL, THE RIGHTEOUS FOR THE UNRIGHTEOUS, THAT HE MIGHT BRING YOU TO GOD.”
The gospel isn’t just about being delivered from sin’s punishment and sin’s power. It’s not just about what we are leaving behind us; it’s about Who we are heading towards and Who we are being reconciled with.
Righteous Jesus died on the cross for the unrighteous, so that He might BRING YOU TO GOD.
If all we are doing is preaching the gospel so that people can be saved from suffering the punishment of their sins, then we are missing the whole point of why Jesus came in the first place.
2Corinthians 5:18 says that “GOD WAS RECONCILING THE WORLD TO HIMSELF IN CHRIST, NOT COUNTING PEOPLE’S SINS AGAINST THEM, AND HE HAS COMMITTED TO US THE MESSAGE OF RECONCILIATION.”
Our message is not one of condemnation but of reconciliation. Our sins have been forgiven, and our relationship with God has been restored – ALL BECAUSE OF JESUS.
Christ did the impossible to BRING YOU TO GOD.
The New Living Translation of Ephesians 3:12 says that, “BECAUSE OF CHRIST AND OUR FAITH IN HIM, WE CAN NOW COME BOLDLY AND CONFIDENTLY INTO GOD’S PRESENCE.”
Sin separated us from God. Jesus did everything that was legally required to reconcile us with Him. Our boldness and confidence in God’s presence aren’t in our own name or in our own merits. Our boldness and confidence before the Lord are in the name of Jesus, and we come into His presence based on Jesus’ merits.
Jesus didn’t die on the cross so that we could go to church, sing a few songs and listen to someone preach. He died to bring us TO GOD.
You have direct access to the Father in the Name of Jesus. Get to know Him through reading your Bible and spending time WITH HIM in prayer.
Have a great day. Love and prayers,
Warren
