29 March, 2019 Apia Samoa. The newly sworn in Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Finance Leasiosiofaasisina Oscar Malielegaoi is ready to serve the people of Samoa.
Leasiosio responded to media questions following a special ceremony held at the Palisi prayer house yesterday morning. He said that the role for him is a calling, and stressed the importance of serving the people of Samoa as a CEO for the Ministry.
“Pau lava le mea ia te au e faatāuaina, o le valaauina ia fesoasoani i soo se tasi o le atunuu o loo omai i le matagaluega o tupe e manaomia se fesoasoani, ma o le a faapena foi ona tuuina atu le tautua a lo’u nei tagata ma le malo, e fesoasoani ai mo le atunuu.”
During the ceremony held at the government prayer house in Palisi, the Prime Minister reminded the CEOs that they were accountable to the people and urged them to keep an open door policy.
The CEO of Finance said it was valuable advice and his door would always be open to anyone wanting to see him.

Leasiosio has worked over 16 years in the finance sector, over 10 of those years with the Ministry of Finance. He has also served abroad as a Directors Advisor to the ADB.
