Cabinet Approves Final Repatriation Flights for 2021

25th October 2021, Gvt Press Release. Cabinet at its meeting FK (21)42 discussed and thereby approved the schedule of final repatriation flights from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji, for the rest of 2021.

The published schedule includes flights that would take seasonal workers to Australia and New Zealand, including one just before Christmas, on the 23rd December 2021 for seasonal workers to Australia.

The main purpose of the scheduled repatriation flights is to bring home seasonal workers, students studying overseas and other citizens before the festive season. The last flight for the year is scheduled for the 9th of December, to ensure no one is in quarantine over Christmas.

A flight initially planned for the 28th of October, has now been confirmed postponed to the 13th November, 2021.

The schedule of flights for November and December from Australia, New Zealand and Fiji have been set down as follows:

 9 November 2021
A Qantas flight will arrive in Apia to uplift Seasonal Workers from Samoa to Australia.

 13 November 2021
An Air New Zealand repatriation flight from Auckland New Zealand.

 16 November 2021
A Qantas flight from Australia to bring home citizens and seasonal workers and to uplift Seasonal workers bound for Australia.

 17 November 2021
An Air New Zealand flight to take RSE workers to New Zealand.

 21 November 2021
An Air New Zealand flight to take RSE workers to New Zealand.

 27 November 2021
An Air New Zealand repatriation flight from Auckland New Zealand.

 30 November 2021
A Qantas flight to take seasonal workers from Samoa to Australia.

 7 December 2021 – two flights
i) Air New Zealand repatriation flight from Auckland New Zealand.

i) Air New Zealand flight to take RSE workers to New Zealand.

ii) Fiji Airways flight to bring home Samoan citizens working in Fiji and scholarship students completing exams.

Qantas flight to uplift Seasonal workers from Samoa to Australia.

The National Emergency Operation Centre (N.E.O.C.) has been tasked to coordinate and monitor these flights, while the Ministry of Health continues to lead the COVID-19 border protection, through enforcement of compliance with Samoa’s travel advisory.
