Happy Friday Saints.
Matthew’s account of the parable of the builder states that “THE RAIN CAME DOWN, THE STREAMS ROSE, AND THE WINDS BLEW AND BEAT AGAINST THAT HOUSE; YET IT DID NOT FALL, BECAUSE IT HAD ITS FOUNDATIONS ON THE ROCK.” (Matthew 7:25)
Getting God’s Word deep inside your heart and putting it into practice will help you stand strong during challenging times.
Building your life on the rock doesn’t happen by accident.
You have to make a conscious effort to read, meditate on, and memorise the Scriptures.
Deuteronomy 6:7-9 says, “YOU SHALL TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY TO YOUR CHILDREN AND SPEAK OF THEM WHEN YOU SIT AT HOME AND WHEN YOU WALK ALONG THE ROAD, WHEN YOU LIE DOWN AND WHEN YOU GET UP. TIE THEM AS REMINDERS ON YOUR HANDS AND BIND THEM ON YOUR FOREHEADS. WRITE THEM ON THE DOORPOST OF YOUR HOUSES AND ON YOUR GATES.”
Is this the same kind of effort that you’re putting into knowing God’s Word?
The passage from Deuteronomy 6 instructs us to talk about God’s Word all the time and to post reminders all around us.
God’s Word was never meant to be confined inside a book. You can have a whole bookshelf full of Bibles, but if the precious Words contained within those Bibles don’t enter your heart, they won’t make an ounce of difference to your life.
Speak the Word, teach the Word, bind the Word and post the Word – do everything you can to get it out of the pages of the Bible and into your heart.
Let it infiltrate every part of your life so that you can withstand any storm.
Have a fabulous weekend. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
