Proverbs 9:1 “Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars.”
Wisdom isn’t something that happens overnight. It’s a deliberate process—like building a sturdy house—it requires effort, planning, and a solid foundation. Proverbs 9:1 tells us that wisdom has “built her house” and “set up its seven pillars,” symbolising strength, stability, and a well-constructed life.
In the parable of the wise builder in Matthew 7, Jesus compares those who hear His words and put them into practice to a wise man who builds his house on the rock. The process takes time, patience, and intentionality. Building a life rooted in God’s Word involves hearing His truth daily and doing what it says, even when it requires sacrifice or effort.
Just as a house needs a strong foundation to withstand storms, our lives need a foundation of wisdom that is built on God’s Word. It’s a process of continual learning, applying, and growing—layer by layer, pillar by pillar. Every act of obedience, every moment of seeking God’s guidance, adds to the strength and stability of our spiritual house.
Consider your own life as a house you are building. Are you intentionally laying down the pillars of wisdom? Are you investing time in hearing God’s Word and applying it? Building wisely takes patience and perseverance, but the result is a life that can stand firm through life’s storms.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for providing the blueprint for a life built on wisdom. Help me to be diligent in building my life on Your Word. Give me patience and perseverance as I seek to hear and obey You daily. Teach me to establish strong pillars of faith, trust, and obedience, so I may stand firm no matter what challenges come my way. Guide me in becoming a wise builder, grounded in Your truth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
