Police are investigating a tragic incident that claimed the life of a teenage boy just one day before his 18th birthday.



Deputy Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo told Samoa Global News that Tui Enele of Faleula-Uta was killed from a fallen branch during a tree clearing contract of land at Lalovaea on Tuesday 7th December 2021.
“The information we have from our preliminary investigations is that some of the branches already cut had not fallen” said Auapaau. “The boy was crushed when those branches suddenly fell on him,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
Families and friends posted heartfelt birthday wishes for Tui, a talented artist who works for V Electrical Engineering Services (VEES), the contractors who have this week lit up Apia with Christmas lights on and around the SNPF building.
Colleagues have posted tributes for Tui, crediting his artistic work in the creation of reindeers and the star that sits above the SNPF.



The Malie Sharks rugby club have also posted a tribute for Tui Enele, an up and coming rugby player and also a high school sprinter and talented athlete.

Tui Enele was a popular sprinter of Wesley College. He took out the 100 metre event when he was a Junior as well as Intermediate.
