Happy Thursday Saints.
Luke 6:27-28 “LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, DO GOOD TO THOSE WHO HATE YOU, BLESS THOSE WHO CURSE YOU AND PRAY FOR THOSE WHO MISTREAT YOU.”
The Lord does not expect you to feel nothing after being mistreated. It’s natural to feel disappointed or aggrieved.
If you take another look at the above passage, you’ll notice that our feelings do not have to determine our responses.
Love is not about having romantic feelings. It’s about doing what’s right for the good of others. God loved the world so much that HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON to save us from our sins. His love for mankind was revealed through His ACTIONS.
LOVING YOUR ENEMY is an action. DOING GOOD TO THOSE WHO HATE YOU is an action. BLESSING THOSE WHO CURSE YOU is an action. PRAYING FOR THOSE WHO MISTREAT YOU is an action.
You can feel disappointed but still decide to DO THE RIGHT THING. You don’t have to like someone to be kind. You don’t have to admire someone to be respectful. You don’t have to be pleased or happy with someone to pray for them or bless them.
If someone mistreats you, you don’t have to mistreat them in return. Every time we repay evil for evil – EVIL WINS. God desires for His children to OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD.
It requires courage to follow Christ and walk in God’s higher ways. We cannot be a light in this world, and we cannot overcome evil if we act like the fallen world surrounding us.
CHRIST IN YOU is the hope glory. IN HIM, you have the incredible ability to walk in love and show your enemies that there is a better way.
Have a great day IN CHRIST. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
